Liquid Glass Control Center Enhanced for Better Readability

Apple has improved the new Liquid Glass effect in the Control Center, addressing user feedback about excessive transparency. With the latest update, the background is more opaque, making icons and controls easier to read. Some minor color blending remains but overall visibility has improved significantly.

Introduction of a New Ringtone Variant

iOS 26 Beta 2 includes a new variation of the existing “Reflections” ringtone, labeled “Alt 1.” This version has a distinct tone, offering users a subtle change from the default audio alerts.

Safari Interface Refinements

Safari now places the “+” tab button back in the bottom-left corner, aligning with familiar layouts from iOS 18. Additionally, the “More” menu has been redesigned into a single-column list, making actions easier to locate and execute.

Accessibility Features Expanded

Users now have greater control over visual effects in the Control Center. A new option under Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size allows users to reduce transparency, enhancing legibility for those who prefer a more solid background.

App Store Accessibility Section Added

Developers can now include an “Accessibility” section on their App Store listings. This helps users quickly identify apps that support specific accessibility features such as VoiceOver, Dynamic Text, or Closed Captions.

Wallet App Adds Order Tracking

The Wallet app now includes a built-in order tracking system that automatically scans the user’s Mail app to track online purchases. This works even if the orders were not made using Apple Pay, streamlining the tracking experience.

Apple Music Introduces Live Radio Widget

A new Live Radio widget is now available through Apple Music, allowing users to stream live stations directly from the Home Screen or Control Center without opening the full app.

Improved Description for Low Power Mode

Apple has revised the description of Low Power Mode to more clearly outline its functionality. It now explains how the feature conserves battery life by reducing background activity, limiting refresh rates, and disabling non-essential functions like iCloud sync and 5G.

Live Captions Feature Updated and Renamed

Previously known as “Transcribe Calls,” the feature has been renamed “Save Call Transcripts.” It now includes automatic notifications for call participants when transcription is enabled, improving transparency and privacy.

New Recovery Assistant Feature

The new Recovery Assistant tool allows users to troubleshoot and restore their iPhones directly from another Apple device without needing a computer. It attempts automatic fixes and offers streamlined device-to-device recovery options.
